January 7: Complete Next Step Plans. Take home for parent signatures. Due on January 14
December 10: CC Final Exam due. We'll check in on the college search process and talk about next semester.
December 3: Chapter 8, College Admissions. We'll read the chapter together. If you miss this class, please read the chapter and answer all of the questions at the end of the chapter. Assignment of CC Final.
November 19: Can you pass the Coffee Shop Employment math test? We'll take the actual employment screening test given by a local coffee shop. We'll also go to Naviance to log Community Service hours. Remember: All community service hours for Quarter 2 must be logged in x2vol by December 10.
November 12: Assembly with Principal Lumley to celebrate PARCC student results
Noveember 5: Finish share out of Chapters 4,5,6, and 7 of College Admissions
October 29, November 5: Read Chapters 4, 5, 6, and 7 in College Admission Book. Take notes, write down 5 "Take Aways" from each chapter, and share out in class. We should be able to complete this work in class, but we'll check in on November 5.
October 15: College search on Naviance
October 8: PSAT pre-registration
October 1: Naviance - Personality inventory/career match
September 24: Naviance Follow up
September 17: Naviance exploration! Let's get into Naviance and get to know the site a little better.
September 9: Continue the share out of College articles, discuss ER procedures and our new Intensive programs.
September 3: To help students make progress in the decision making process for college applications, students will read (in small groups) 6 articles and share out the information with the whole group.
Homework (Due September 10): Read The Forward and Chapters 1, 2, and 3 of College Admissions, From Applications to Acceptance, Step by Step. Write down a minimum of 5 "Take Aways" from each chapter. As always, and for any assignment for the rest of the year, use your best writing skills (grammar, word choice, punctuation, etc.) and include the proper heading on your paper.
